How "We" is the Core Secret of Online Product Success

by Scott T. Smith, PromoMinder & Business Copywriting Net,

Finally! After a year of focusing and refocusing, honing, buffing and polishing, our new online product just launched. And now, the marketing begins...

People ask us how we first came up with our idea, which I'll describe in a moment. The answer is simple:

"WE"

Together, my partner and I have developed a unique product and brought it to the marketplace. Working in tandem we were able to cover all the bases, though we did need additional programming help in the final stretch of the product launch. In truth, we absolutely had to draw on the strengths of each other to ensure that our product would ultimately realize its potential.

We could not have done this alone.

There are two of us involved hands-on right now, but the 'we' aspect actually goes deeper. In truth it began in the Fall of '97 at a conference in Colorado led by Jonathan Mizel, Marlon Sanders, Patrick Anderson and Declan Dunn. Talk about a true meeting of the minds... in fact some of the very best minds in Internet marketing, then and now.

They planted the seeds we needed to develop a genuinely useful product, giving us the platform and tools to forge ahead with the right perspective for the online marketplace. I credit them for inspired training, and must be sure to include them in our 'we' as well.

They know - and now, WE know - the journey to new product development follows this 3-step progression:

1. 'Exploration and Testing'. What is the marketplace, and what does it really need?

2. 'Creation of something Genuinely Useful'. We should always strive to make life better for our customers.

3. 'If You Need Help, Ask For It'. And of course, be willing to give in return.

The old saying "No'one is an island" could not be more true. The more we learn from and draw on each other's strengths, the stronger we ourselves become. Which is good for us individually, and in the end very good indeed for the Internet. Because together, we make it a progressively better place to be.

To close, I would encourage you to be open to what another person can bring to your table. Joint venturing, at best, creates something that is bigger and better than the sum of its parts. So think "WE" and go for it!
